Douglas Manuel is a medical doctor with a Master`s degree in Epidemiology and Royal College specialization in Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Manuel is a Senior Scientist in Clinical Epidemiology with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). His research combines interests in public health, health care systems and primary care. He and his OHRI research colleagues are international leaders in developing clinical risk prediction tools. Much of his research is based on data that links together population risks with health care delivery.
Dr. Manuel is also an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences and a Senior Medical Advisor with Statistics Canada. In addition, he pursues research in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada and other federal and provincial agencies.
