Charlotte Moore Hepburn


Charlotte Moore Hepburn is a faculty paediatrician at The Hospital for Sick Children`s Division of Paediatric Medicine.  Dr. Moore Hepburn is also an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto`s School of Medicine.  In May 2011, she was appointed the inaugural Lead for the Child Health Policy Initiative (CHPI) in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto and The Hospital for Sick Children.

Dr. Moore Hepburn graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1997 before pursuing medical studies at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and specialty training at the Harvard-BMC combined program in Paediatric Medicine.  While living in the United States, Charlotte was engaged in legislative advocacy and child health policy in the United States Senate, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the American Academy of Paediatrics (Washington Office).  On the state level, she was involved with the Children's Caucus of the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.


In 2005, Dr. Moore Hepburn returned to Canada with the intent to combine her academic clinical practice with continued work in health systems improvement, working on child health and child health priorities.  From 2006 to 2011, she worked with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, as the Provincial Lead for Maternal, Child and Youth Health in the Office of the Assistant Deputy Minister, Health System Strategy Division.
