Audrey Laporte is an Associate Professor of Health Economics at the University of Toronto`s Institute for Health Policy Management & Evaluation and Adjunct Scientist with the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.  She is the Director of the Canadian Centre for Health Economics (http://www.canadiancentreforhealtheconomics.ca).    

Dr. Laporte is an economist with expertise in microeconomic theory and econometric methods as applied to healthcare. Her research interests span a range of areas which include modelling: addictive behaviours; the determinants of access to care (home care, primary care), implications of the shift in site of care for the retention and turnover of nurses; measuring the operational efficiency of health care providers (LTC facilities, hospitals, home care), regression modelling of the impact of caregiving on labour market participation of informal care providers and the relationship between social capital, health and health care utilization.
